September 2026 Newsletter
Welcome to our September newsletter
A round-up of what’s been keeping the StratIT Holdings team busy this month, from partner events to product training and continued growth across our channel.
StratIT Holdings at Datacentrix Spring Day
On 1st September, StratIT Holdings had the pleasure of joining Datacentrix’s annual Spring Day event — another highlight on our partner calendar. We ran our own stand for the day, and Johan and I manned the braai to feed a crowd of around 300 people, serving up two South African favourites: boerewors rolls and sosaties.
Beyond the food, it was wonderful to reconnect with friends and colleagues from Datacentrix and the wider partner network. Days like this are exactly why we value being part of this ecosystem — it’s not just business, it’s community. Datacentrix said it best in their thank-you note to vendors afterwards: “Your generosity and participation helped make a fun-filled day, bringing people together to relax, connect, and enjoy the day.” StratIT Holdings is always proud to support our partners’ events, and we’re already looking forward to Spring Day 2027.

Opengear Foundation Training:
The First of Many
This month StratIT Holdings hosted our first formal Foundation Training session, focused on Opengear’s out-of-band management portfolio. Delivered live via Zoom Webinar across two sessions to make it easy to join, the training walked our resellers and end users through the Opengear offering and how to position and use it confidently — with time built in for live Q&A. It was free to attend for every StratIT Holdings reseller and end user.

This is just the beginning. As a Value-Added Distributor, we believe product knowledge is something worth sharing widely — with our partners and their end users alike — on every product we distribute. Building on this first session, our Foundation Training programme will continue through the rest of the year, with sessions planned for Cumulocity, Digi International, Thermal Radar, Cloudian and CTERA. Keep an eye on your inbox for dates.
CHANNEL PROGRAM UPDATE
Growing Our Footprint Across Africa
Our new Channel Program continues to gain real traction, and one of our clearest priorities going forward is growing the number of partners we onboard from across the African continent. We’re pleased to share that system integrators in multiple African countries have already come on board and are successfully placing and processing orders with us — proof that the programme is translating into real business, not just intent.

Much of this momentum is being driven by the explosive growth in IoT. Partners in South Africa and across Africa are increasingly recognising the value of StratIT Holdings’ comprehensive approach — bringing Cumulocity, Digi International and Opengear together as a single, complementary IoT stack rather than a set of disconnected point solutions. We’re already seeing strong interest in our IoT platform, with multiple clients onboarding across a range of verticals. If your company is keen to explore the opportunity, reach out to me directly at christob@stratit.co.za to arrange a comprehensive presentation on our products and what they can unlock for resellers and end users alike.
VENDOR SPOTLIGHT
CTERA & Cloudian

CTERA is the Intelligent Data Platform company — its edge-to-cloud platform unifies file and object storage into a single data fabric, replacing fragmented legacy NAS infrastructure with secure, high-performance access from anywhere. For our partners, it’s a strong conversation starter with customers dealing with ransomware risk, remote workforce data access, compliance, or AI-readiness: CTERA offers air-gapped, immutable backups and rapid recovery, plus native access to unstructured data for AI training and analytics, all without the retraining pain of moving users off familiar file-share workflows. It’s already trusted by organisations including WPP, the U.S. Air Force and Navy, and The Carlyle Group.

Cloudian brings enterprise-grade object storage to the table with HyperStore — a peer-to-peer, shared-nothing platform with no central controller, so performance scales linearly as capacity grows, right up to exabyte scale. It offers the industry’s highest S3 API compatibility, meaning customers can plug straight into cloud-native and AI/ML applications without vendor lock-in, while erasure coding and multi-site replication protect data against drive, node, rack and even full-site failures. Together, CTERA and Cloudian give StratIT Holdings partners a compelling story for any customer wrestling with data growth, ransomware risk or AI-readiness — from active archives and disaster recovery to data lakes and Kubernetes storage.
StratIT Holdings is proud to be the distributor behind both CTERA and Cloudian across Africa, giving our partners direct access to enterprise-grade data platforms backed by local support. Whether you’re a partner exploring a new revenue stream or an end user weighing up your data storage and protection options, we’re available to walk you through either technology in more detail — reach out to us at christob@stratit.co.za and we’ll set up a session.
SECURITY UPDATE
360° Thermal Detection for Early Warning
On the security front, we’re also moving forward significantly. More and more end users across different verticals are recognising the value of thermal solutions for early warning — and it’s easy to see why. Unlike conventional cameras, which depend on visible light and often struggle in darkness, fog, smoke or glare, thermal imaging detects heat signatures directly. That means a perimeter can be monitored reliably, day or night, in almost any weather condition — and a developing fire can often be picked up before any visible flame appears.
Paired with 360-degree scanning, a single thermal unit can do the work of multiple fixed cameras — continuously sweeping the full perimeter to flag human or vehicle intrusion and fire risk from one platform, rather than stitching together footage from several devices. StratIT Holdings offers a range of thermal products, so we can match the exact requirement and budget of each project rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
We’re also excited to share that we’ve completed our first successful thermal deployment in Namibia — proof that this technology is expanding well beyond South Africa’s borders. Companies across mining, ports, agriculture, data centres, solar and many other use cases are already seeing the benefit, and interest keeps growing. With StratIT Holdings providing the skills and capacity to train, install, support and supply this technology end-to-end, more resellers are joining our partner base — helping it scale across verticals and across a growing number of countries.
LOOKING AHEAD
Partner Events in October
We’re excited to share that StratIT Holdings will be hosting several events with our partners throughout October. These will be focused, partner-led sessions — each partner inviting their own end users to a breakfast or lunch session, giving us the chance to present our technology directly to the people who’ll be using it.

StratIT Holdings will be right there supporting our partners throughout, from planning through to presenting on the day. It’s a great opportunity to bring partners and end users together in a smaller, more personal setting than a big trade event, with plenty of room for real conversations and questions. More detail on dates, locations will follow soon, so watch this space. If there are any of our partners who would like to host a specific end user event, then they are more than welcome to reach out to StratIT Holdings.
